Sweeping bends, mountain climbs, historic towns, and country pubs. We’ve mapped out six of our favourite loops that bring you right back to the Bendemeer Hotel for a well-earned drink and a feed.
Road Riding Loops (Sealed)
The Waterfall Way Loop – 285 km
Route: Bendemeer → Walcha → Wollomombi Falls → Ebor → Armidale → Bendemeer
Ride the stunning Waterfall Way, stopping at Wollomombi Falls lookout.
Lunch in Ebor or Armidale.
Gentle sweepers and open high-country riding all day.
Nundle & Moonbi Pass Loop – 185 km
Route: Bendemeer → Nundle → Hanging Rock Lookout → Moonbi Pass → Tamworth → Bendemeer
Twist up to Hanging Rock for views, coffee in Nundle.
Descend Moonbi Pass and enjoy sweeping curves back to Tamworth.
Perfect mid-length ride with pub or café lunch options.
Walcha & Uralla Heritage Loop – 210 km
Route: Bendemeer → Walcha → Uralla → Kentucky → Bendemeer
Start with a scenic run through Walcha, then explore Uralla’s historic streets and cafes.
Optional stop at Dobson’s Distillery or McCrossin’s Mill Museum.
Rolling farmland and open road bliss.
Adventure & Dirt Loops (Mixed / Unsealed)
Woolbrook & Niangala Forest Loop – 160 km
Route: Bendemeer → Woolbrook → Niangala State Forest tracks → Nundle → Bendemeer
A mix of country backroads and forest dirt trails.
Stop for a drink in Nundle before the final run back.
Great for midweek exploring without the crowds.
New Country & Warrabah National Park Loop – 190 km
Route: Bendemeer → Somerton → Warrabah National Park → Bundarra → Bendemeer
Gravel stretches alongside the Namoi River with scenic river crossings.
Picnic in Warrabah National Park or pub lunch in Bundarra.
Quiet, remote feeling but easily back before dinner.
Niangala – Walcha Adventure Loop – 220 km
Route: Bendemeer → Niangala → Enfield Forest Trails → Walcha → Bendemeer
Challenging sections through forest tracks with open dirt highways.
Perfect for adventure bikes looking for variety.
Reward yourself with a whisky at the Bendemeer bar.
Bungendore Spur Adventure Loop – 230 km
Route: Bendemeer → Attunga → Bungendore Spur → Manilla → Barraba → Woodsreef → Bendemeer
Bungendore Spur’s curves meet dirt sections north to Barraba.
Remote backroads through Woodsreef with sweeping valley views.
Fuel and food in Manilla or Barraba.
